Application and Due Diligence Process

Each partner organisation is required to submit documents in order for GlobalGiving to verify the registration and standing of the organisation. Information about the programmes run by the organisation may also be required.

There are three types of 'due diligence' paperwork packets (you will asked to submit the relevant paperwork depending on how you fill out the online nomination form):

(a) UK registered charity;

(b) International nonprofit organisation registered outside of the UK or US;

(c) US registered nonprofit.

All organisations submitting paperwork to GlobalGiving.co.uk will be asked to read and sign the terms and conditions agreement.

Please note that this page is provided for information only. You will be guided through the online due diligence submission when you begin the application process.

(a) Requirements for UK registered charities

For UK registered charities (either registered as a charity with the Charity Commission, a company 'limited by guarantee' or charity registered in Scotland or Northern Ireland), few documents are required in order to fundraise through the UK GlobalGiving website. (This set of paperwork is not sufficient to feature on GlobalGiving.co.uk's sister charity in the USA. However you will be able to submit additional paperwork later to feature on the USA website if this is appropriate for your organisation. Alternatively, you can submit "international nonprofit organisation" due diligence now, which is valid for both the UK and USA sites.)

(b) Requirements for International nonprofit organisation (registered outside of the UK or US)

For international nonprofit organisations registered outside the UK and US, documents highlighting the organisational registration, structure and financial status must be submitted along with signed non-discrimination policy and anti-terror certificate. In addition a reference from an external person is required.

(c) Requirements for US registered non-profit organisations (501(c)3 status)

For US registered organisation wishing to register via the UK website, documents proving the organisations 501(c)3 status are require along with IRS letters. US organisations are welcome to apply through the UK website but may prefer to apply directly through our US sister charity: GlobalGiving.org.

Is GlobalGiving right for me?

GlobalGiving works with a range of different organisations, building an efficient, open, thriving marketplace that connects people who have world-changing ideas in their community with people who can support them. Particularly, we offer a gateway for small and medium-sized organisations to present their charitable projects to the wider international public and to get additional support in delivering their projects and growing their charitable activities.

  • Are you a registered small or medium sized non-profit eager to promote your charitable project to people around the world?
  • Would you like to get ahead in online fundraising and raise additional funds for your projects?
  • Would you like your organisation to be part of a GlobalGiving ongoing learning and support programme?

If the answer to these questions is yes, than the GlobalGiving UK could be just the thing for you!
