Welcome to GlobalGiving UK's Back to School, January 2013 Appeal!

GlobalGiving UK is passionate about education and its transformative power. With Christmas behind us and with Children all over the world returning to school, we are reminded of the magnificent work done in the name of education by our project partners all over the world. That's why we are raising money in support of education this month. Are you passionate about education too? You can donate to our main fund or you can donate directly to one of our four featured projects. Donations to the main fund (top) will be shared evenly between the four featured charities.

Back to School: Education Appeal 2013
United Kingdom, Education
It's that time of year when the children are all dashing off back to school all over the world. GlobalGiving is passionate about education and its transformative power, and we recognise that its provision is not as universal as it should be. We want to support education for all, so throughout January, February and March we will be raising money for four featured charities.

500 Girls off the Street & Into School in Liberia.
Liberia, Women and Girls
We help get girls off the street and into school in one of the world's most notorious slums in Liberia, West Africa. We started sponsoring girls at an already existing school, but its standards were very low. Now, we've been able to open our own More Than Me Academy, where our students will receive a real education based on international standards. We currently serve 120 girls, but the MTM Academy can serve up to 240. One day, we hope to have a boarding school that will support 500+ girls progress reportread updates from the field
