Sustainable management of the Makira Forest requires changes in the practices of local subsistence farmers. CPALI teaches them silk rearing that bolsters family income by 60-200% and restores habitat.

This project will fund patrol teams who will monitor the beaches and forest to protect this vital area.

Junior Scientists at Iracambi is an Environmental Ed program that transforms schoolchildren in Brazil's Atlantic Rainforest into forest guardians. Through hands-on education they learn the science of forestry, collect data on soils and water, and share their discoveries with their families, gaining a new understanding of the forest as a resource to be nurtured and not exploited. Sound conservation practices will qualify farm families for government funding, helping both forests and people.

Sami's Project will plant 4,000 fruit and nut trees with young children in 96 participating Moroccan schools and villages (with proceeds to be used for school supplies and infrastructure).
