The Alliance has a long-standing relationship with the government of Mali to provide vaccinations in villages in and around the Ouelessebougou Commune. The Alliance provides vaccinations for the following diseases: polio, yellow fever, measles, tuberculosis, diphtheria, hepatitis A, the flu, and tetanus. The Alliance will provide a total of 5,300 vaccinations this year. Last year 1,750 children attended school in 11 village elementary schools that the Alliance currently supports. Since the inception of Alliance education programs, girls' school enrollment has increased substantially. The Alliance works with Village Education Councils to enforce the enrollment of girls in the classrooms; provide textbooks, supplies, and benchdesks for a strong education environment, and to enforce a partnership with the Malian government to ensure long-term sustainability. Learn More
