The challenge is for each project to raise £1,000 from 50 unique donors within a month period, starting 1st April 00:00 BST and ending on 30th April 2010 at 23:59 BST. 50 unique donors means that donations must come from at least 50 different people.

In addition, the two organisations that raise the most money for their project will receive bonus monetary rewards: £1,000 for the first place winner and £500 for the second place winner, with an additional prize of £250 for the project that has the highest number of unique donors. Each project must reach £1000 from 50 donors to gain a permanent place on the GlobalGiving website and to be eligible for any prize money.

Project Challenge III participants are project leaders from around the world who have expressed interest in posting their projects on GlobalGiving's website. Their projects range from health and education, to environmental and animals. Projects range in size from small community-based projects to larger country or regional projects. You choose how you wish to donate – to what causes and projects.

All project leaders must complete a rigorous Due Diligence process to qualify for the Project Challenge and once permanently featured on GlobalGiving, each project must be updated with a progress report every three months.

If you are a project leader participating in the challenge, look out for emails from GlobalGiving providing tips and advice for getting the most out of the Project Challenge fundraising opportunity. Throughout the Project Challenge you will be invited to participate in live web chats, calls and learn from online resources. Please send an email if you have any question.
