For project 1066 (Providing scholarship for Graduate study in India)

A progress report ending Nov., 2011.

“VIRMANI TRUST IS WORKING FOR A LIFE OF DIGINITY AND SELF RELIANCE FOR THE DISADVANTAGED.”

The Scholarship scheme has been very successful with the formation of a permanent corpus. We have received total of Rs 49.41 lac US $ 109800/- up to 30-11-2011. This has been invested in Govt. of India Bonds and Banks. The interest received from the investment is the available scholarship amount which is awarded to students.

There are 23 recipients of the scholarship scheme. Three of them were awarded in the quarter ending 31-12-2010for the course as mentioned against below along with their names.

  1. Piyush Goel ( B. Tech. Course)
  2. Tarun kohli ( C. A. course)
  3. Pragati Chaudhary ( B.A.M.S) ( Medical Course)

There have been no awardees in the quarter ending 30-09-2011

Out of 23 recipients 12 have already completed their studies and are employed at attractive salaries.

Mr. Harsh Kumar completed his Chartered Accountancy course in January, 2011 and has joined ICAI in July, 2011. He receives Rs. 42,000/- per month He belongs to a middle class family and was awarded scholarship in the year 2007. After passing out, he thanked the management of the trust and donors for making his career. The scholarship was an immense help to him, otherwise it would have not been possible for him to complete his C. A. Course.

Mr. Ramesh joshi has enrolled for an under graduate degree in technology (I.T) from Malhot Institute of Management and Information Technology, Malhot, Dist. Mukstsar (Punjab). He belongs to a middle class family. The scholarship is very helpful for him. He has won a medal in college sports competition.

We plan to award scholarships two more students in addition to three already awarded this year.

We would also like to have a larger network so that we become a part of global charitable funding initiatives and plug in mainline organization that manages these initiatives from across the world. We are looking for contribution for all this and are grateful for your support which enables us to carry this forward. We express our gratitude to the donors for making the change in society happen. Even a small contribution is very useful for us.

We thank all our well wishers and supporters for their donations and request them to   also help us with constructive ideas and thoughts to take this program forward.

Thanks.
