Solar Tuki walk for Community Awareness

The photo portrays a solar tuki rally being organized by the youths in the rural village of siraha district as an awareness raising rally.

Discussion with the villagers

A community orientation being made to the community prior to the distribution and use of solar tuki. The orientation comprises the microfinance mechanism for the distribution of solar tuki, the use of solar tuki and other quiery of the local villagers regarding solar tuki.

Orientation for women

The village womens are being trained to keep the record of loan in microfinance system while promoting solar tuki in their groups.

Hands on maintenance

Local youths are being trained regarding various technical and social aspects for the promotion of solar tuki.

Drama presentation

The students of nature club established in the school are performing a street act play/drama presentation in the local area regarding the use and benefits of solar tuki.

Firewood for sale

People sell firewood in the local market being collected from forest as an option for income generation and for livelihood.

Line to purchase kerosene

People in the rural community rely on kerosne for lighting during night time. Due to shortage of kerosene in market, people stay in que for 2-3 hrs to get few ltrs of kerosene to light in the night time.

Students use solar tuki during evening hrs for study and to do their homeworks.

Housewife charging solar tuki

During morning hrs, housewifes in the rural areas charge their solar tuki sets together with their morning works of milking cows and buffalows. Housewifes use the solar tuki during preparing evening meals and early morning for milking the cows and buffalows. The milks are then transported to the local dairy by the head of family as an alternative income generation.

The women from Chitwan is very happy after using solar tuki as she is relieved from using kerosene lamp during evening hours.
