Give 3,000 students access to music education
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesLittle Kids Rock operates in schools having no music education or in schools in which the music teacher wishes to rejuvenate the music curriculum. We serve public schools where 50% or more of the students qualify for the free or reduced-price lunch program. We awaken the creativity that supports learning and self-discipline in academically, socially and economically at-risk students through music. Students gain a strong sense of accomplishment and self-worth as they develop their musical skills. ActivitiesPublic school teachers are supplied with musical instruments, equipped with curricula, and trained to use our methods to teach music in their schools. Students learn to play instruments at an accelerated pace, and compose and perform original songs.
