Library for Mayan High School Students
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesIn a remote rural region north of Barillas, Huehuetenango, Guatemala, populated by 75,000 inhabitants, no no high school exists. The Mayan Center's high school offers scholarships to selected impoverished Mayan students from 250 villages. Library resources will serve a critical component in the quality of education they will receive. Dictionaries, encyclopedias, textbooks, literary resources, charts, maps, manuals, computer aids, and other materials are needed ActivitiesA supply of books and educational materials will dramatically aid the quality of education in academics, vocational training, and leadership instruction.
