More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesYanacocha Mine is the largest gold mine in the Americas and is located in Cajamarca; one of the poorest regions of Peru, where 3 out of 4 people live in poverty (under $2 a day). The mine represents a key business opportunity for local communities, as its catering companies purchase more than $5 million dollars a year in food supplies.The project will help low income female entrepreneurs supplying the Yanacocha mine. Assisted businesses purchase from over 50 small producers in the region.
