Children travel to Carita beach In September 2011, the kids are off school so we took 30 children to a vacation in Carita beach, a beach western tip of Java Island. Children and their mentors who oversee it looks fun holiday activities enjoy their holiday. A grant from donor GlobalGiving is used to finance travel and accommodation of these children. We are grateful for the attention and support given. On this occasion, the children gather with their friends while doing various games that can make them more familiar with each other while studying natural sciences. Back to school

Activities undertaken by children who are members of the Village Learning Center Cogreg during April – July 2011, many filled with learning activities together. After implemented the annual examinations held nationwide in last May, they got holiday.

After carrying out national year-end exams in last May, the children also holidays with their families until the end of June. Currently the children have returned to their respective schools and some have graduated and entered the higher ranks, from primary to junior and from junior high to high school.

In the Learning Center program that we are implementing, the children in addition learning in formal school, they also have the addition of general knowledge and playing with teaching aids and fit better with age and education.

Many children feel happy to join in this program because they get to know more friends to study together and play together with a new game that does not exist at home. Here they can also ask the supervisor about the lessons they receive in school.

Learning Together

Activities undertaken by children who are members of the Village Learning Center Cogreg during November 2010 to April 2011, many filled with learning activities together. The event was indeed very much needed by children to remember at the beginning of May 2011 they will follow the annual examinations held nationwide.

In this activity the children are guided by the coaches, trying to become a teacher teaching for other friends. They in turn became a teacher for his friend. It is as an exercise for all children to learn self-confidence and master the field of science that they define themselves.

Activity was followed by a study with 20 children who all were in the village Cogreg, Bogor, West Java, Indonesia. They were finally able to finish this event with pride as each child is given the opportunity to provide new knowledge for his friends.

Learn to play music

Young children who are members of this group to learn to play music using a guitar purchased from a grant from the Global Giving. We bought a simple acoustic guitar pieces and used by all children in turn.

In this learning activity, we borrowed some guitars from our friends and try to create own songs. We hope that when this music group can continue to learn, then we will try to follow the race in our village.

Group health check-up

This activity is carried out as part of group activities in collaboration with health care providers in our village. In this activity all children checked their health by health workers for free.

If there are children who are sick, then we will be given medication for free. We also get milk and vitamin supplements. This activity is we like because we get free health checks and receive extra food.

Village Library The village library that we manage currently has 34 new books, among other books, history, drawing books, general knowledge and magazine as well as comics for children.

Number of new children who join the library is two children, so the total number of currently 42 children.

In addition to books and children that increase, we also held a reading and drawing competition which was attended by members of the library.

We received the latest donation from Global Giving is in October 2009 with amount $131. Your donations are very important for us to continue our free educational program in Cogreg village. Below is the detail of program that we have been implemented during June – October 2009. Please support us so we can help more than 40 children and young people to do learning activities. Thank you very much for your support. Student quiz The quiz is followed by 10 elementary school students and 10 junior high school students. In this activity the children were asked about lessons and other activities related to their school.

In each game, there was the jury who assess their answers. Then from the accumulated value, the jury determines who has the highest value, he was the winner of this game.

In addition to questions about the lessons in school, in this game the children are also asked to draw on paper. Many of the draw the landscape using colored pencil.

The children seemed happy to follow this game, because many first-time following the game. There are also children who looked tense during the game. Some more smoothly answered questions from the jury.

The end of the game, the jury gave prizes in the form of trophies to the children who become champions. They are happy and keep the trophy at home.

In this month, June, children are in holiday school season. Our main activity is playing in small group, learning something useful to fill out the holiday and working together to clean our neighbor.

Below is the detail of program that we have been implemented during March – June 2009. Now we need more funds from you to continue the program. Please support us so we can help more than 40 children and young people to do learning activities. Thank you very much for your support. Extracuricular lesson for children This program is for giving more knowledge through additional lessons for students who will do the final examination in last semester so they can more ready to do the final examination and hope they can pass the exam and then continue to the next level. Progress Report for Learning Center for Cogreg Children (ID 1703)

Currently, children who learn in the Learning Center are 45 children. We have new 5 members. They are more fluent and proficient using the computer, read the book of the Gospel and the holy Al Quran.

In last December 2008 they take the exam at school, and most get a better value. There are 3 children who became champion in each class.

Rita, one of the children said: "I became a champion because of the class often study and discussion with friends in the Learning Center." Rita at this time is sitting in the junior class 3.

YPKC and all the children joined in the Learning Center say many thanks to donors and Global Giving for your helps. Assistance funds provided is very important to help us continue to keep learning.

Project Evaluation Report Latest update : July 24, 2008 Project Title : Learning Centre for Cogreg Village Children Summary In the last even semester Jan – Jun 2008, 10 students of Elementary School have been graduated to upper level, from class 5 to 6. Twenty students of Junior and High School also graduated to upper level. Now all children are still schooling in local school.

Everyday after school time over 03.00 – 05.30 pm, children in Cogreg village come to our Village Library for reading books, comics, and magazine and meet their friends for playing together. Learning for Al Quran and Bible These activities are still running well. Ten children (age 5 – 12 years old) following the Al Quran Reading Practical and ten children following the Learning for Bible (for Christian’s children). All children are happy doing this activity. The older boy now can help teacher to teach their friends.

Our problem now is; we need to pay the rental house for next 6 months July until December 2008. Please help us paying the rental house so our children can continue these activities. Providing School Equipments The school equipments which we provided in March 2008 are still using by children until recent day. The school equipments which we provided are: daily school uniform, Boy Scout’s uniform, Sport uniform, stationeries and school bags. All children are happy and now they need to buy new books as their class. Please help us to provide new books and practical tools for our children. Village Library This is the most favorite activity for our children. We have a simple village library. In this library we have small reading room, three big book racks and some books, literatures, magazines and general knowledge books. The library opens daily. This library is for all children who live in Cogreg village. Please help us to provide much more books, magazine, literatures and pictures. Learning Center program now is still running well and attended by 17 children age 6 – 15 years old in Cogreg village. Activities which still running is: a. Reading Bible Training b. Reading Al Quran Training

Ad.1 Reading Bible Training Children are very enthusiasm to follow the lesson that implemented every Friday, 01.00 – 03.00 pm. This activity has followed by 9 children with 2 trainers. Now children having read and understanding the Bible until page 120.

Ad.2 Reading Al Quran Training Current progress children can read the Al Quran with Arabian’s fonts. They can read until level 3 (more is better). The lesson runs well and smoothly. Main constraint is hard raining current date. Many places flood in the house that we rent for these training.

Please we need your support again and donation for paying rental house that we used for trainings for months March – May 2008.

The project was implemented in three activities, as follow: 1. Learn to read Bible (Christian’s kids) 2. Learn to read Al Quran (Moslem’s kids) 3. Provide toys and games for children

ACTIVITY 1. Learn to read Bible (for Christian’s kids) a. Description: This activity is inviting children to start reading the Bible so they understand about the content and can apply good behavior for their life b. Benefit: i. Children can read the Bible more smoothly and they understand about content of the Bible ii. Children having better behavior iii. Children more respect to parent and other people c. Action: i. Provided a room for study ii. Provided Bibles iii. Provided stationeries iv. Provided trainer for weekly lesson v. Children read the Bible and singing vi. Praying together vii. Short discussion d. On 28 – 29 July 2007, Michael (6) an autism and blind kid lived in Bogor has got the first swimming lesson from Autism School at Jakarta. Michael is one of 9 disable children who joined in Learning Center coordinated by Calincing Love Rainbow Foundation.

In the first lesson, Michael scared with the water. He always cries. With patiently trainer from the school listened how to swim, with playing in the pool, now Michael has enjoyed swimming.

Michael has double psychically handicapped – autism and blind – now he can play with friends and also swim even using floater.

On 17 -18 May 2007, 25 children age 13 – 17 years old have been implemented short training for computer and Information Technology in Bogor, West Java. The activity funded by local government, Education and Culture Department Office – Bogor, for giving computer training for 200 children in Bogor district.

In this workshop, YPKC (Calincing Love Rainbow Foundation) sent 25 young people, 20 boys and 5 girls, to follow the activity. They learnt about: • How computer work is • How to use Microsoft Office • How to make letter and story for wall magazine • How to make simple presentation

All participants are having new skill about how making letter, story and simple presentation. They were satisfied with their knowledge. After training season end, children giving back their skill to other friends in Cogreg village.

“Now I can making simple story and putted on our wall magazine and my friends like the story” said Anwar, one participant. Our wall magazine at front of neighbor leader house is very useful for sharing information among young people in Cogreg village.
