Free & Sustainable Secondary Education, Guatemala
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesChildren from indigenous rural villages are being denied main stream schooling as their families cannot afford the materials or inscription fees. This leaves them without the opportunities that every child deserves. The children will be taught the National Curriculum. This solution provides a huge impact as it provides for many more than scholarships alone can. ActivitiesBy providing free schooling and vocational skills we can ensure these indigenous communities get the same opportunities as everyone else. With very small contributions from families and graduates, the school will then become sustainable. Why this Project is ImportantPotential Long Term ImpactOver the years this school will teach thousands. Because it will be run and funded by local communities in the future, it will also foster strong communities and ensure the indigenous populations are not swallowed up by development and ruralisation. Project Message
