Brick making This shows how the bricks are made, using a simple wooden frame mould, and then left to dry in the sun.	Forming a vault This shows a trained VN builder starting a vault, using specailly made, small, vault bricks, leaning them against the end wall, and layering them with earth mortar.

The church of Petit Balé his is one of the biggest VN buildings, a church near Boromo, Burkina Faso; reinforced concrete pillars and beams have been used to create a wide interior space under three vaults.
