PROJECT UPDATE
Street Children Back to School

Summary:
Since this program launched in January 2008, our street children were started learning in small groups; Learning Group (Kelompok Belajar) Package A for Elementary student, Package B for Junior High School student and Package C for High School student.

The lessons that they learnt are: Bahasa Indonesia, Mathematic, Social science, Natural science and English. Fifty children followed the lessons at one house of the street children’s family in South Jakarta.

In middle of last May 2008, we have met with children, their parent and field facilitator for discussing the program run. In that meeting, we all are happy because some children in Learning Group Package A have been read better now and more than 45 children always back to home and active in group. Children met in group every Monday, Wednesday and Friday every week. Welas Asih Shelter provide trainers and teachers, coordinating activities, materials and all facility needed.

b.   Self-Help ness

3.   Field Practical
a.   Basic Leadership
b.   Apprenticeship

4.   Games
a.   Kites Contest
b.   Handicrafts
c.   Chess
d.   Puzzle

Since this program has launched in January 2008, we have not received any donations yet from our donors. Please help us to continue this program so the street children can follow the lesson better.
