One of the goals for this workshop was to get the drawings by the own hand of the Kickapoo children that can be use to design the two board games of the project. Animals, colors and other things named in three languages: Kickapoo, English and Spanish.

Painting our legends and the fields growing

These are two of the three basic themes for the children to paint: the land in blossom and the rising of Kitzihiata an ancient Kickapoo god, the sacred fire and the presence of the deer, their sacred animal.

This girl named Estrella, Star in Spanish, paints a deer, an animal that represent the sacred. As the legend says, the deer die and reborn for the survival of the Kickapoo people.

Our footprints symbolize a long journey

The other important theme of the workshop was the Kickapoo history. The time pasted and the road walked from the mother land in the Great Lakes centuries ago to this community in Mexico: Tamichopa, Bacerac, Sonora
