Haiti Hospital Appeal

Mission

Our aim is to improve the urgently needed health service in the North of Haiti, and raise awareness of the situation. In addition to our Medical Clinic we are building a new hospital to provide four basic medical services: General Medicine, Pediatric Care, Obstetric-gynaecology, and General Surgery. This includes a vaccination programme for children and women of child bearing age and the provision of nutritional supplements for malnourished children.

Programs

Since our Medical centre opened in January 2007, we have successfully treated over 3,000 patients, offered vaccination, nutritional and food distribution programmes, education and prevention. Sadly, on occasion we recieve patients who need hospitalisation but have no where to go, with this in mind, we have started contruction of our new hospital in 12 keys stages in order of prority, starting with a Maternity and Pediatric unit, and purchased a new 4x4 Toyota ambulance for emergency response.

Carwyn Hill - Founder and Worker
Carwyn founded the HHA after a trip where he saw Julia an 11 year old, who had died simply because the doctors didn't have the equipment to save her. Touched by seeing at first hand the desparate state and heart breaking situation of Haiti's poverty and injustice. Carwyn set about doing something about it, formed a team, registered the charity and fund raises constantly for the project.
