Mission

Pratham’s mission is every child in school and learning well. Pratham works with schools, families and communities to make this happen. We work with governments, where they are willing, with village volunteers and village communities. We believe in a Societal Mission where citizens come together to ensure that India’s children have a better future. We beileve that through a good education, opportunities are created for children, their families and communities.

Programs

• Direct Delivery Programmes: Pre-school, learning support classes and libraries for 6-14 yr old children. The programmes reach out to children from disadvantaged homes & also act as laboratories for developing new ideas. • READ INDIA Campaign: Pratham’s current flagship programme. Aims to improve basic reading and airthmetic skills of 6-14 yr rural children. • Knowhow Centres: Pratham Council for Vulnerable Children, ASER Centre, Skilling Initiatives, Early Childhood Care & Education Center.
