Read India Update Oct 08- Jan 09
By Mallika Singh - Ms., March 11, 2009 11:46 AM
Read India, Pratham's catalytic volunteer based programme, largely implemented in rural India has been evolving since its inception in 2006. Since Oct 08, Read India has reached out to 17,109,257 children in 18 states. The children in many states have graduated from Reading to Learn (classes for basic reading and math skills) to a higher level called Learning to Read. Cosequently, seeing the success, states without Government pratnerships are fast moving towards one. The campaign has not only been periodically monitored internally, by Pratham, but also externally by donors, the government and other institutions. Read India, Himachal Pradesh Links: Attachments:
