Reconnecting 200 kenyan women with food sources
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesAbout 2 million people in western Kenya are threatened with hunger as result of cassava mosaic diseases causing severe food shortage as such many children and women are suffering from acute malnutrition and diseases complicated by hunger than ever be for children are unable to go to school and productive women are weak and starving. However with certified cassava stem it costs $2,111 to train 200 rural farmers who will use $50 to produce 70kgs of value added flour to feed 300 people daily. ActivitiesTraining of 200 women on life skills on cassava production,distribution and marketing. More so, creation of 2 acres of certified cassava variety. In addition the project will add value to cassava to produce meals for ugali, porridge and animal feeds. Funding InformationThis project has been retired and is no longer accepting donations.
