Mission

We enable disadvantaged rural communities in semi-arid Africa to transform their environment sustainably and improve water supplies, food production, health and incomes.

Programs

Community self help groups are supported to improve their water and food supply through water and soil conservation measures such as land terracing, tree planting, building of sand dams, water tanks and pipelines. Endangered and medicinal trees are planted within protected forests to promote conservation, and provide seeds of economically valuable trees to community members.

Joshua Mukusya - Executive Officer, Excellent Development Kenya
Joshua Mukusya is the Executive Officer of our operational partner, Excellent Development Kenya. He has been successfully building sand dams for over 30 years. Using his technical skills together with his inspiring ability to engage communities, he has motivated over 57 community groups to address their water and food insecurity problems.
