More Information About this Project
Project Needs and Beneficiaries
Deafblind children born in India face unbelievable challenges. They are isolated, ignored and even locked away. This project in east India, one of the poorest areas in India, will build the bridge between these deafblind children and the world, so that they learn to communicate, gain vital life skills, make an economic contribution and flourish like other children. Parents of deafblind children often feel overwhelmed with stress, but this project will also give them confidence and support.
Activities
There are 3 main activities to this project: bringing education to the heart of the community through support for deafblind children in the home; training community workers; becoming a hub for training in deafblindness for east India.

Project Message
My daughter is so much happier and confident. Last week for the first time she called out to me saying 'Maa' (mother in Hindi). I waited nine years to hear those special words.
