Mission

Resources Aimed at the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (RAPCAN) is focused the promotion of children’s rights, specifically as it relates to theprevention of child victimization and offending. RAPCAN delivers direct services to children and families. The organisation also undertakes training and develops resource materials. Our advocacy work is aimed at ensuring that legislation, policy and practice are consonant with the international children’s rights framework

Programs

1. The Child Witness Project provides services to child victims of sexual offences testifying in sexual offences proceedings. 2. The Child Witness Toolkit. RAPCAN has developed the Child Witness Support Toolkit to enable other organisations to establish a similar service at other sites. 3. RAPCAN also offers child abuse prevention and management training to various service providers and adults 4. RAPCAN undertakes legislative advocacy

Tania is qualified as a social worker from the University Of Durban Westville, and joined Nicro KZN in 1995. She has gained extensive experience in the arena of Juvenile Justice and Women Abuse issues. Tania joined RAPCAN in 2003 and has focused on innovative strategies to grow and strengthen service deivery
