More Information About this Project

Project Needs and Beneficiaries

Recent attacks by the Lord’s Resistance Army in northeastern D.R. Congo have led to massive population displacement. The health status of the internally displaced persons (IDPs), especially women and children under five, is at risk because of the lack of primary health care. Disease is likely to spread because of the desperate living conditions. Without emergency health care and medicines the IDPs are vulnerable to high levels of illness and mortality.

Activities

We will provide life-saving aid to desperate & vulnerable residents of northeastern DRC, families torn from their homes to seek shelter wherever they can find it. By end of March 09 we expect to have provided free preventative and curative healthcare
