Project Needs and Beneficiaries

There are 5356 out of school children in Aligarh urban as per Government data in the year 2008-09. The actual number may be far more than this. These children either never went to school or left their education in between. The causes lie in abject poverty, no access to government schools and pressure to support family income. the project will cover those children who work in lock industry, rag-pickers, street and working children among all the out of school children mentioned above.

Activities

Project activities include the regular teaching, health check ups, providing nutritious food , community mobilization and sensitization of parents and government officials.

Why this Project is Important

Potential Long Term Impact

Mainstreaming of 80% out of 700 children to formal education system. 700 children would attain the health checkup and maintain good health.700 children would get nutritious food. Children would inculcate habit of Reading through library activities.

By providing education to these children you can make a daughter of a rickshaw puller to become a doctor, that a son of a laborer to become an engineer. The project gives you the same opportunity.
