Sneezing elephants: protecting crops in Zambia
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesFarmers in Zambia’s Southern Province are vulnerable owing to drought and invasions from marauding wild elephants which destroy their valuable crops. This project increases the income of 50 rural households, representing 300 people. ActivitiesTraining and equipment will be given, assisting farmers to erect chilli fences and learn techniques to stop elephants destroying crops. Chillies are sold to Africa Spices, who guarantee a market and a fair price for their crop. Funding InformationThis project has been retired and is no longer accepting donations.
