School Library Refurbishment Project
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesREAD International have delivered over 550,000 textbooks to over 550 Tanzanian secondary schools. READ International embarked on an exciting new project to support the donation of resources. By providing schools with sets of textbooks to use in class, READ has increased the access a student has to knowledge. Our Library Renovation Project aims to create spaces for Tanzanian students which are conducive both for study and leisure. ActivitiesThe renovation project is a completely student-led initiative. READ volunteers (from UK and Tanzania) take on the responsibility of the whole project from the library design to the organization of student work-teams. Funding InformationTotal Funding Received to Date: £621 Funding InformationThis project is now in implementation and no longer available for funding. Received funds will be used to accomplish concrete objectives as indicated in the project's "Activities" section. Updates will be posted under the "Progress Report" tab as they become available. Donors' contributions and pledges to this project totaled £621. The original project funding goal was £18,207. ResourcesWhy this Project is ImportantPotential Long Term ImpactWe follow the rule of “quality- first time round” with every library renovation. We establish long term library groups, reading groups, school prefects, etc devoted to sustaining the success and use of the library long after we've gone. Project Message
