Mission
RYICO's mission is to support young people in Rwanda that have been left in difficult and vulnerable circumstances, many as a result of the 1994 genocide. This does this through Centre Marembo, a youth centre that provides access to advice, emotional support, training, accommodation and education. Through these services RYICO aims to empower and equip young people with the knoweldge and skills to enable them to make informed decisions about their futures.
Programs
Through Centre Marembo (CM) RYICO runs several projects. Many young people access the centre through the weekly DROP-IN facility which is an open access service where street children people can meet, wash, eat and play in a safe place. CM also publishes a YOUTH JOURNAL, a magazine which promotes health and wellbeing messages to young people. CM runds a variety of vocational training and income generating projects. It also provides housing and schooling for 32 former street children.
