Help Mayan women generate income in Mexico
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesThis project benefits the Chumpon commnity in Zona Maya. Due to the isolation of this jungle community, it is hard for these people to benefit from the prosperous tourism industry in nearby Cancun. The community has been forced to migrate to tourist resorts to look for work, leaving their families and having to live in Cancun. As people leave their villages, traditional customs, skills and ways of life are gradually vanishing. ActivitiesHaving completed the training, registered the product & brand name, the women are now just waiting for the last of the vital equipment needed to finish the kitchen. This project will raise funds for this equipment. Funding InformationThis project has been retired and is no longer accepting donations.
