More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesThe World Heritage Listed Daintree rainforest in Australia contains the highest numbers of plant and animal species that are rare, or threatened with extinction anywhere in the world. The cassowary plays a major role in this biodiversity hotspot. The Australian Rainforest Foundation is working with IT specialists, conservationists, ecologists, biologists, zoologists and universities to conduct vital research and studies. The cassowary, rainforest and career-minded students will all benefit. ActivitiesConduct behavioral & ecological studies on the cassowary in the wild, semi-wild and captive and on its bio-diverse habitat. Create a universal management tool for environmental impact assessments and population estimation for endangered species. Funding InformationTotal Funding Received to Date: £595 Funding InformationThis project is now in implementation and no longer available for funding. Received funds will be used to accomplish concrete objectives as indicated in the project's "Activities" section. Updates will be posted under the "Progress Report" tab as they become available.
