One of the five health care posts
Primary Health Care "is the first level of contact of individuals and families in the community with the national health system bringing health care as close as possible to where the people live and work ..." (WHO, Alma-Ata 1978). The five primary health care posts serve also as Antenatal Clinics.

Dr. Albin Tagapulot, a gynaecologist of the Philippines, is a specialist for the introduction of Primary Health Care in rural areas.
|
Dr. Mama continued the PHC-Project
In the past years it became clear that to keep PHC sustainable in the area of Igbeagu-Izzi it is necessary to train professional community health workers who are resident in Igbeagu-Izzi. Once they have finished their training they have to revitalize PHC in Igbeagu-Izzi with all the five primary health care posts.

Essential drugs at lower prices
In the price of the drugs are also included all the expenses for PHC. Self-reliance of the community can become reality if through a high participation of the people in PHC, like in a supermarket, makes the treatment cheaper and affordable because the more people participate in PHC, the smaller becomes the expenditures for it. This makes PHC financially independent and sustainable as long the people are interested in PHC and the services are attractive.
