Mission
VISION -A future based on justice, equality & the rule of law
MISSION-To pioneer in upholding the human rights of all people in the Kurdish regions & beyond
GOALS/AIMS
• Raise awareness of the situation of the Kurds in Iran, Iraq, Syria, Turkey, the Caucasus & elsewhere
• End the violation of the rights of Kurds & others in these countries
• Promote the protection of the rights of Kurdish people wherever they may live
• Eradicate torture both in the Kurdish regions & across the globe
Programs
KHRP’s multi-disciplinary programme consistently combines litigation; capacity-building trainings/ tools; expert fact-finding missions and trial observations, with public awareness raising and engagement. We seek to build the capacity of in-country advocates; transfer knowledge & maintain constructive dialogue between civil society and governments & empower the general public by making them aware of their rights and how to better access local, national and international governing bodies.

Personnel Overview
Saniye Karakas - Legal Associate
Saniye worked as a lawyer in Turkey from 2000 to 2006, specialising in criminal law and human rights law. She has also been involved in human rights activism in Turkey as a member of the Diyarbakır Bar Association, the Contemporary Lawyers Association and the Diyarbakır branch of the Human Rights Association.
Catriona Vine - Legal Director
Catriona is a qualified barrister who practised in domestic & international crime, public law & human rights. She has prepared many international human rights applications both to the European Court of Human Rights & the European Court of First Instance. She has carried out many fact-finding missions & ECHR trainings for KHRP in Turkey & was a Lecturer for the BVC at the College of Law, London
Mustafa Gündoğdu - Turkey and Iraq Desk Officer
Mustafa has previously worked as Project Coordinator at the Foundation for Legal & Social Studies (TOHAV) for victims of human rights violations, focussing on the medical rehabilitation of victims of torture. He has also worked on number of research projects on the Kurds, internally displaced persons in Turkey & trans-national migrant communities for researchers & universities in Turkey & the UK.
