More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesInternational Refugee Trust's local partner, Cigarra, works with a community of approximately 1000 people from around 300 under-privileged families in Ciudad Bolivar, the suburbs of Bogotá in Colombia, who have mostly been displaced from the rural areas by decades of conflict between armed groups including guerrillas, paramilitary, and the army. This project will train 60 individuals, mostly women, who have been assessed for a commitment to the training and the project's objectives. ActivitiesTo train a total of 60 individuals in breadmaking over a 12 month period. To offer support to all those trained to establish a food co-operative. Why this Project is ImportantPotential Long Term ImpactTo work with the local government in offering further training opportunities so that some of the trainees may work towards becoming food technicians and improve their skills so that they may gain employment in the catering/service industry.
