Rebuilding 10 pre schools for 500 children
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesOn Wednesday 30th September a severe earthquake struck just off the coast of Padang, Indonesia, a busy coastal town of 900,000 people. The devastation and destruction has been massive. Over 1100 people killed, nearly 3000 people injured, 210,000 homes and 5,724 schools damaged. The initial rescue phase has now been completed and now reconstruction can begin. The Foundation for Mother & Child Health aims to rebuild 10 pre schools for young children focusing on a specific area in West Sumatra. Activities500 young children aged from between 3 and 5 years of age will benefit from the rebuilding of 10 pre schools in Western Sumatra. Each pre school also doubles up as a community health post from where 4 community health workers are based. Funding InformationThis project has been retired and is no longer accepting donations.
