Mission

The Foundation for Mother and Child Health aims to improve the lives of women and children through the provision of health, nutrition and educational programmes for children; health education and skills training programmes for women; and capacity building programmes for community health workers. We work with local organisations in Indonesia (urban slums of Jakarta & remote rural areas in West Timor), India (Mumbai) and Azerbaijan (Baku - working with refugees from Afghanistan,Iran and Chechnya).

Programs

The specific project the Foundation for Mother and Child Health are fundraising for at the moment, is the rebuilding and re-equipping of 10 early learning centres for young children in Western Sumatra, after the earthquake of 30th September 2009.

Rosie Penrhyn Jones - Director & Grants Manager
Rosie Penrhyn Jones is a Founder member of The Foundation for Mother and Child Health. Working together with Barbara Jayson in Jakarta, Indonesia, they set up the Indonesian charity 'Yayasan Balita Sehat' which today continues to work tirelessly helping mothers and children overcome poverty and malnutrition in that country.It is the long term partner of The Foundation for Mother and Child Health.
