Primary School Environmental Education
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesPeruvian kids and teachers have little access to good educational materials. This is one reason why, according to the United Nations Development Programme, Peruvian children rank second worst in academic performance in Latin America. We will use environmental issues (mainly urban biodiversity) to produce materials that motivate teachers and kids to improve academic performance (i.e. reading, comprehension and verbal expression). Beneficiaries are 20 schools, 400 teachers and 12,000 students. Activities• Design and print educational materials • Construct mobile tent • Train young trainers • Develop workshops in 20 schools and 3 municipalities • Evaluate, diffuse and transfer program materials and results.
