Children Networking - The children need your help

Dear Friends of PAAJAF,

The Children’s Network provides an after school programme for children and young people to support their learning and links the children their schools, and the greater community.

It enables them to share ideas and develop problem-solving strategies so that they are better able to understand the barriers to education and social engagement in which they are trapped and develop solutions to these problems. Children are guided in homework revisions, studying for exams and in life skills and games, to motivate and encourage them in their success at school.

Started in 2007, the Children’s Network began in Benkasa Community, BrongAhafo Region of Ghana with 65 public school students. However, the project has now closed in 2011 since there is lack of funding for the project.

In 2010, the programme was recommenced at Gbawe Methodist Basic School with 32 networkers. The project has brought a major relief to parents who cannot employ part-time teachers to help their children concerning their homework. Due to the networking, many of such underprivileged children now enjoy extra teachings after school to help them.

PAAJAF needs your help to resume this project; $50 helps to pay 1 volunteer facilitator allowance per a month for 12 month in this year 2012.  PAAJAF needs 3 volunteers to help on the project.  Summary,  $1,800 needed.  Other needs include: stationery, hire of venue, utility bills.  Volunteers are also needed to write winning proposals for the project and fundraising.

All helping hands are invited and we need minded people like you to help these underprivileged children at Gbawe in Ghana.

Thank you
