Get involved: become a Project ambassador

Want to get involved beyond donating money? Become a Project Ambassador and explore ways that you can do more to help a GlobalGiving organisation. Use the Find a Project section to choose a project that means something to you and start supporting them right now in the following ways.

Promote a Project

Use online tools to promote a project that you want to support. Tell friends, post links to your project’s page and spread the word.

- Every project has a personalised widget (an online badge) like this one that can be posted on websites, blogs or social networking sites – add it to your pages and ask your friends to add it to theirs too. When someone clicks on the widget they’ll go directly to your project’s page. Find your widget at the bottom of your project page.

- Create a Facebook group or fan page for your project explaining what it is and why you are supporting it, and invite all your friends. Facebook has a massive user base and is a great way to keep people engaged in your work through regular updates. Don’t forget to add your project widget to your fan page too.

- Use Twitter to spread the word (http://twitter.com/). Twitter is a free service that can be used online or with a mobile phone, allowing you to exchange messages with friends. Use it to tell people about your project and to broadcast updates on your fundraising efforts and others can ‘follow’ what you post.  Fundraise

 Take part in a fundraising activity and use the tools on GlobalGiving.co.uk to  fundraise online for your chosen project.

 - Create a personalised fundraising page for an event of your choice and ask people to sponsor you in  support of your project. Just follow the link below and click ‘create fundraiser’: http://www.globalgiving.co.uk/giftsandfundraising/searchfundorgg.html.

- Create an online Giving Group and ask friends, family, colleagues or any associated people to give to your chosen project. Your personalised page will show the mission of the group, who has given to date and how much the group has raised together – so you can really see your collective impact! - Send a gift certificate so a friend or family member can donate to a charity project of their choice or make a donation to your chosen project in some else’s name: http://www.globalgiving.co.uk/gifts/index.html.

 Visit a Project

 If you are travelling and have an interest in visiting a GlobalGiving project in the area  let us know. 

 Tell us where and when you are travelling by filling in a  Visitor Expression of Interest Form and we'll  introduce you to a project leader.

 Volunteering 

 Give a project a gift of time by volunteering online. 

 If you would like to volunteer for a particular project on GlobalGiving.co.uk fill in the Volunteer  Expression of Interest Form to let us know the project or projects you would like to volunteer for,  when you'd like to volunteer and the kind of time commitment you're able to give.
