Dear farmers, there must be something wrong with the present farming systems which has even reduced yields among farmers. "Yes it is true as we can observe and compare with other outside farmers one of the farmers said." For how long are we going to lack sufficient food in our families: Long ago people used to plant selected crops that could make more yields.
The community managed to look for technical assistance through local CBO known as SINGI CBI. They discussed possible ways of improving their food security through capacity building on appropriate technologies of improving the produce.
The community started gaining from better way of farming. Today the community is able to produce adequate yields. More training were conducted to the farmers through a partner organisation to SINGI CBO.

Kenya is an attractive site for tourists. Most of the people in Eastern part of Kenya leave like refugees in their own country. There the cannot even enjoy their rights and freedom. There is no any crop they can grow, the only green vegetation seen is cactus.
They complained to the government about their problems but no one would listen to them. People and children died like flies. Later there was an organization which started to teach them about farming and the method of livestock production. They were taught for at least three years, the people planted crops and reared livestock.
As the people were moving to other regions with the solidares members to teach other people so as to stop the big drought and famine, the crop died the only thing which was remaining was only livestock. But as I told you earlier, the people in eastern parts of Kenya leave as refugees in their country the cattle was stolen by the Al-shabaab members of Somalia. The people were killed and the members of al -shaabab to the land and properties as their's.

Margaret Kakai lost her husband in 2000. As a widow as well as my sister in-law, i noticed that he was off balance both social and emotionally in as far anything about life was concerned. The children were all primary school going age with all their needs. Her house too was leaking and only a grass thatched one. In 2004 when she joined mama wajane women the moment of a sign of relief beckoned her. The group has been able to help her emotionally through teachings from professionals that the group invites to speak to them occasionally. The group also gave her money through their contributions and loan to put up a house and to start a fish business(omena). The group has also helped her with financial support on her productivity in farming which enables her to get labour to work on her farm and that she can get the rigid seed variety then to plant on time.
