Summary

This project aims to provide scholarships to children living in poverty in Port au Prince so that they can get the education they need to escape poverty and build a brighter tomorrow.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

School in Haiti is not free, and if a family cannot pay, their children simply do not attend school. Lack of education locks these children in a cycle of poverty. Ensuring access to school not only improves children's lives, but strengthens Haitian communities in the long-term.

How will this project solve this problem?

We aim to break the cycle of poverty by increasing access to education through scholarships for vulnerable kids who would otherwise be unable to attend school and who are at risk of falling into poverty.

Potential Long Term Impact

Access to education for children from families who do not have the means to send their children to school means that those children will have the skills they need to find stable jobs and escape the poverty of their families.

Project Message

"I think that education is the most important thing. Like me, if I wasn't educated, I wouldn't be able to run and orphanage or help anyone. With an education, the children can be anything they want"
- Carlo Loranzo, Orphanage Leader & Scholarship Monitoring Officer
