Summary

Sylvester is an articulate and intellegent young man who dreams of working in a bank, he's studied hard to get the grades to study a BA in Commerce and the only thing holding him back is the funds. Sylvester is the oldest of four, the family lives in Kibera and his parents are unable to pay his school fees. Turning Point has supported him through primary and secondary school and we long to see him fulfilling his dreams.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

The families Turning Point work with in Kibera are unable to afford to send their children to primary or secondary school so for these young people a university degree is out of reach. Sylvester has been with Turning Point since 2005 and has completed both primary and secondary school with promising grades. His parents cannot afford the fees for higher education.

How will this project solve this problem?

We aim to continue our support towards Sylvester and enable him to progress on to university to study Commerce.

Potential Long Term Impact

In the long-term Sylvester hopes to become a manager in a bank, studying Commerce will equip him as he moves towards his dream.

Project Message

In the future I want to work in a bank as a manager, in school my best subject was business studies and I am so interested to study Commerce.
