Summary
A primary method of transportation in our remote country offices where remote locations are difficult to access. Motorbikes are a necessity for our staff members to travel to the women in the field or transport goods to the market.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Our country offices are often in remote locations making it difficult for staff members to travel to our satellite offices and also making it difficult for the women in our programs to transport their goods to major market centers. Our offices are often in such remote locations, other NGO's do not work there. For example, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo most of our 19 satellite offices operate where there are no other NGO's.
How will this project solve this problem?
Motorbikes will allow staff members to travel more quickly and easily to our satellite offices and will also allow the women in our program to quickly and easily transport their goods to major market centers, allowing them to earn a bigger income.
Potential Long Term Impact
The motorbikes will have two distinct effects. First, they will allow our staff members to have more interaction with the women in our programs allowing us to increase our capacity to serve women. Secondly, the motorbikes will allow women to visit major market centers to sell more goods, thereby earning a large income to help support their families and communities.
Project Message
"Motorbikes will help me reach the women in our programs more quickly so I can spend more time providing support and less time traveling."
