Our goal is to help everyone get involved in local sustainability, and to utilize map making to engage and empower communities. Each locally-made Green Map promotes green living, ecological, cultural and social resources, sharing a world view that's up-to-date, actionable and naturally attractive to all ages of residents, decision-makers and visitors. Hundreds of diverse cities, towns and campuses in 65 countries already benefit from the capacity-building tools we develop with your support.
Too many people feel bewildered by ecological decline and climate change's complexities because they lack the knowledge, models and connections to make meaningful change. To encourage daily actions that support vibrant economies and thriving communities, we provide participatory tools and technologies that bring everyday solutions to light. Now used in 850+ communities in 38 US states & 65 countries, award-winning Green Maps highlight local places, pathways and resources for sustainable living.
To help accelerate massive change, we are opening up our engagement toolkit, mapping platform, iconography, network and concepts to encourage new leadership, collaborations, and innovations. Our goal with this 'interchange' is to dramatically impact our potential to co-create a more resilient, healthy, democratic and economically sound world. This reinvention - shared globally at GreenMap.org - will reach deep into diverse communities, sharing best practices and expanding our common horizons.
To help all of us work smarter, our toolkit will evolve. Your support will accelerate our ability to build skills, networks and resources, enabling local Green Map teams to undertake a wider variety of community-building & sustainability initiatives. We will combine our efforts with diverse 'smart cities' programs, media and others. This will enhance our reach and impacts, yielding powerful new print and interactive Green Maps that help millions of people build a bridge to a better environment.
With Green Maps, vital resources from local food systems to clean water and other basic needs can be highlighted and enhanced. Please contribute to a more sustainable future for all!
