Moonlight voluntary counselling and testing (VCT) seeks to increase knowledge amongst high-risk groups about the effects of HIV/ AIDS. Long distance truck drivers and commercial sex workers remain a key force in the spread of HIV/AIDS across the African continent. ACE Africa will set-up temporary mobile testing facilities at stop-over towns, synonymous with high-risk groups. VCT transform individuals and families lives, leading to behaviour change and character transformation.
Support for Nigerians with Vitiligo

VITSAF will create, equip and run an innovative Resource Center, providing a rich supply of information and lifestyle products on skin health. This will ease the psychological & social effects that altered image has on persons living with Vitiligo - an autoimmune disorder that leaves striking white patches on the skin, (often misconstrued as leprosy or curse) leading to high levels of stigmatization, significant emotional distress & threatening racial identity.
Help raise awareness of bowel cancer & save lives

Bowel cancer is currently the UK's second biggest cancer killer and yet it doesn't have to be. If diagnosed in its earliest stages bowel cancer is very treatable and patients have over a 90% chance of being cured. This project aims to reach one million people in the UK with life-saving information on the symptoms of bowel cancer and simple ways to reduce their risk. We want to stop people dying needlessly from bowel cancer.
Support HIV research- improve quality of life

People with HIV face a shorter and poorer quality of life. Many will therefore take vitamins and supplements in addition to their antiretroviral therapy. However many of these supplements have not been proven to be beneficial and some may even cause harm. We wish to employ a researcher who can undertake a systematic review of existing data an present the information accessibly to people living with HIV. This could improve the quality of life of the 70,000 people accessing HIV care in the UK.
Give healthcare to 100,000 people in Sheri, Rwanda

This project will provide a vital Healthcare centre for 100,000 people living in impoverished, outlying villages in Sheri district of Rwanda. The area has no public hospital and little public transport for people to access emergency or routine treatment. We will provide life saving and changing treatment for victims of some of Rwanda's most prevalent illnesses and diseases including Malaria, HIV/Aids and tuberculosis. We will also provide antenatal care, infant immunization and kidney dialysis.
Post-surgery rehab for 40 children in Nigeria

Festus Fajemilo Foundation will provide physiotherapy treatment and assisitive devices for 40 hydrocephalus and spina bifida children arround Lagos, Nigeria. The program will improve poor motor coordination, achieve independence and raise the self esteem of these children. The children will be taken to a rehabilitation centre where each child will have 24 sessions for 3 months, a care giver, transport assistance and assistive devices such as calipers, walking frames and Ortho shoes.
Prevent disability for 200 children in Bangladesh

The prevalence of disability in rural Bangladesh is high due to overpopulation, poverty, illiteracy, ignorance, and lack of medical services. Some of these disabling conditions are curable and preventable. This project will bring meaningful changes to the lives of 200 children; treating preventable disabilities by offering different surgical (cataract, clubfeet, cleft-lip, hydrocephalus), clinical and community based activities.
